The Natural Beauty of Rawhide
Natural rawhide is a favorite decorating accent for many rustic-themed homes. Rawhide is an animal skin with all fur, fat and meat removed, and is commonly made from buffalo, cattle, deer or elk. Because rawhide is not treated or tanned, it appears much lighter in color than traditional animal hides. Rawhide is somewhat stiff, yet semi-pliable and light-permeable, making it an excellent material to add a soft, warm touch.

Rawhide lampshades are popular in rustic homes both for their beautiful authentic style and warm lighting glow.
