Drum Tables

For the Indians, no pow-wow or tribal meeting would have been complete without the rhythmic pounding of drums. Today, Native American drums conjure dramatic images of tribal gatherings with beautifully costumed dancers encircling a raging fire and dancing to the beat of the tribal drums. Now you can incorporate these fine drum tables into your own rustic decor for drumming, decoration, or a little bit of both. We think of these aesthetically beautiful drum tables as "practical art."

Handsome Drum Tables
Drum tables make excellent decorative accents as coffee tables, night stands, end tables or decor pieces. All of our drum tables are not only functional, but also produce a lovely resonant sound as long as they're drummed with nothing on top of them. And all come with drumsticks. The log drums are made by hollowing out an interesting, clean and pleasing log and stretching rawhide panels over top and bottom and stringing the panels tightly with rawhide lacing. Other styles would use the rawhide in the same fashion, but stretched over a wood base which is cut from around the tree and shaped into a perfect cylinder. All sizes and shapes are available, both in hand-held decorative drums as well as in the practical log drum tables, and many feature original painted artwork.

These hand-crafted pieces make excellent rustic home furnishings, and their fine craftsmanship can be handed down from generation to generation. For a complementary look, combine a rustic lamp and rawhide lampshade atop a slim drum table. Alternatively, consider placing a large round drum table over a beautiful animal hide throw. The decorating possibilities are limited only by your imagination!
